Who processes your data

The controller of the data collected on this site is Melro Destemido Unipessoal Lda., trading as Entre Escolhas, tax number 517 578 743, registered at R. Ana de Castro Osório, 18, 2 — 1500-039 Lisbon, Portugal.

What we do, and what we do not do

Entre Escolhas helps you choose the right estate agency or consultant to sell, buy or rent. We are not an estate agency: we do not list, advertise, sell or rent properties. What we give you is a reasoned recommendation.

This matters for this policy because it defines what we do with your data: analyse it to prepare that recommendation, and nothing else without your agreement.

What data we collect

Only what you give us in the site's forms. There is no other way for us to collect data about you here.

In the recommendation request form, depending on what you want to do:

• Your identification and contact details: name, email and, if you choose to give it, phone number.
• The language or languages you prefer to be contacted in.
• What you want to do: sell, buy, rent out or look for additional services.
• The property details: location (district, city and area, and optionally postcode, street and number), type, bedrooms, approximate size, price, current status, timing and the listing link, if one already exists.
• Your selling preferences: exclusivity, interest in an "Off Market" sale and anything else you want to add.
• If you are buying: whether you intend to apply for a mortgage, and what you are looking for.

In the partnership form, meant for those offering us their services: name, brand, agency, location, email, phone (optional), services offered and strengths.

We use no cookies, no analytics tools and nothing that follows you around the site. The details are in the Cookie Policy.

As on any website, the servers that host it process your device's IP address — without it they could not deliver the pages to you.

What we use your data for

• To analyse your request and prepare a recommendation of an agency or consultant.
• To contact you to clarify whatever is needed and present that recommendation.
• To send you, as soon as you submit, a confirmation email with a copy of your answers.
• In the case of the partnership form, to assess the proposal and reply to you.

We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it to anyone.

On what legal basis

We process your data to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract — Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation. You are the one who comes to us and fills in the form asking for the recommendation; without the data there is no recommendation to give.

Who we share it with

The recommended agency or consultant

Your data is only sent to the recommended agency or consultant after you confirm to us that you want to go ahead, and only the data you choose to share. Until that confirmation, nothing leaves us. You can choose which parts you share, and you can say no.

Those who provide services to us

These companies process data on our behalf and on our instructions, and may not use it for their own purposes:

• Cloudflare, Inc. — hosts the site and processes the form submissions. It transfers data to the United States under the adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, to which it is certified.
• Resend — sends the emails from the forms. Sending originates in the Ireland region; logs and metadata are held in the United States, under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
• Google — the ola@entreescolhas.pt mailbox is a Google Workspace account, so that is where the email with your answers is stored. Transfers under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

We also share your data with public authorities where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your request's data for six months from submission, and then delete it — unless the law requires us to keep it longer. You can ask us to delete it sooner.

Your rights

In relation to your data, you have the right to:

• Know what data we hold and obtain a copy (access).
• Correct anything wrong or incomplete (rectification).
• Ask us to delete it (erasure).
• Ask us to limit what we do with it (restriction).
• Receive the data in a format you can take elsewhere (portability).
• Object to certain processing (objection).

To exercise any of these rights, just write to ola@entreescolhas.pt. We reply within one month.

If you believe we have not handled your data as we should, you can complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados: Av. D. Carlos I, 134, 1.º — 1200-651 Lisbon, www.cnpd.pt.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and the forms only accept requests coming from the site itself. Access to the requests we receive is limited to those who need it to prepare the recommendation.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If the change is significant — for example, if we start using analytics tools — we will say so visibly on the site.
